Indian Tandoor Chef

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Indian Tandoor Chef to join our team in China. As a Tandoor Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Indian cuisine, with a particular focus on tandoori dishes. Your expertise in traditional Indian cooking techniques and flavors will be essential in creating high-quality, flavorful dishes that meet our customers’ expectations. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of traditional Indian dishes, specializing in tandoori cuisine.
  • Monitor food stock levels and ensure proper inventory management for efficient kitchen operations.
  • Execute recipes accurately, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff to plan and develop new menu items, incorporating innovative flavors and ingredients.
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the proper storage and labeling of food items.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate channels.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, new cooking techniques, and ingredients to continuously improve culinary skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation degree in culinary arts or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Indian Tandoor Chef, with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, particularly tandoor cooking techniques and flavors.
  • Familiarity with authentic Indian spices and ingredients, their usage, and proportions.
  • Excellent understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills to train and supervise junior staff.
  • Creativity and a passion for culinary arts, with a desire to innovate and contribute to menu development.
  • Ability to work well within a multicultural team and adapt to a foreign work environment.

Location and Compensation:
The position is based in China. The salary range for the Indian Tandoor Chef position is 4000 to 6000 RMB, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits and relocation assistance may be provided based on negotiation and agreement.
